SUBMITTING YOUR VIDEO.
Video files (.mp4 or .mov) can be rather large for downloads and uploads, therefore, we would appreciate it if you agree to post your video on the YouTube platform. All uploaded videos must be viewable under the public or unlisted settings. You will need to have a FREE YouTube account in order to do this. (You can sign-up for FREE)
Here’s how:
RECORD YOUR VIDEO ON YOUR CHOSEN DEVICE
Videos must be at least 30 seconds up to 59 seconds. Record a video using your camera, smart phone or tablet and upload your video to YouTube (note: all uploaded videos must be set to public or unlisted), The campaign is subject to all Federal and state laws and regulations, as well as the rules dictating YouTube submissions.
a. If you don’t have one already, create a free YouTube account via Google by:

Visiting www.youtube.com

Click “Sign In” in the top right of the screen

Then clicking “Create Account,” and

Follow the prompts.

b. Once you have an account, your video must follow the preferred video guidelines listed here: https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/1722171 and must be viewable under the public or unlisted settings.
c. The Administrator of the Because Of You I AM campaign is not responsible for technical problems on the host site (YouTube/Google).
d. Participants must comply with the technical and all other requirements of YouTube. Go to the YouTube Help page for more information at: www.google.com/support/youtube.
e. By uploading your video onto the YouTube Web site, you attest that you have read and agree to comply with the Policies and Guidelines.
f. NOTE: Save your video in the original format after uploading it to YouTube. If your submission is selected to be featured in the Because of You I AM compilation video, you may be asked to provide us with your submission in its original format.

Our Policy
Release and Authorization to Use Voice and/or Likeness
You agree to give the administrators of the Because of You I AM campaign permission to use your submitted video recording or electronic images in any and all of its publications, including website entries, without payment or any other consideration. You understand and agree that these materials will become the property of the campaign and will not be returned. You irrevocably authorize the administrators of the Because of You I AM campaign to edit, alter, copy, exhibit, publish or distribute these images for purposes of publicizing the project's campaign or for any other lawful purpose. In addition, you waive the right to inspect or approve the finished product, including written or electronic copy, wherein your likeness appears across the campaigns' platforms. Additionally, you waive any right to royalties or other compensation arising or related to the use of your image. You hereby hold harmless and release and forever discharge the Because of You I AM campaign from all claims, demands, and causes of action which you, your heirs, representatives, executors, administrators, or any other persons acting on your behalf or on behalf of your estate have or may have by reason of this authorization.
You must be 18 years of age and competent to represent and authorize use of your likeness on your own behalf of yourself. If you under age 18, a parent or guardian has to register for you to upload your video. You fully understand the contents, meaning and impact of this release.
AGREEMENT TO THE POLICY. By participating, participants agree to abide by and be bound by our POLICY and our decision, which are final and binding in all matters relating to the Because of You I AM campaign. Entrants who do not meet the age requirements submissions will be void. Being selected for inclusion in the official 60th Anniversary of Desegregation Because of You I AM social media video message campaign (the “Video Campaign”) is contingent upon fulfilling all policy and guidelines set forth.
Video Message Guidelines
NO DONATION REQUIRED TO SUBMIT “SHARING,” “LIKING,” “RETWEETING,” OR OTHERWISE LINKING TO OR FORWARDING THE CONTEST INFORMATION ON SOCIAL MEDIA, VIA EMAIL, OR IN ANY OTHER ONLINE OR OFFLINE MANNER IS NOT A REQUIREMENT OR PART OF THIS CAMPAIGN AND WILL NOT DETERMINE IF YOUR VIDEO IS ACCEPTED.
HOW TO ENTER.
1. Review our POLICY and GUIDELINES
2. Record your video message using your iPhone, Android, tablet or iPad. (you may use DSLR cameras or other recording devices of your choice).
3. Film your message with your phone or camera in the horizontal position. Videos will be posted on several social media platforms so please be sure to record your video accordingly.
4. ATTENTION: It is important that you say each of the Civil Rights Pioneers' names and include the campaign slogan. After you share your thoughts, or give testimony of how integration made opportunities possible for you to achieve your goals, please SAY THEIR NAMES, thank them for their courage and sacrifice, congratulate them on their 60th Anniversary and state the campaign slogan "Because of You I AM". Feel free to add your professional title or add that you are committed to being an agent of CHANGE or that you are committed to the movement. (i.e. Because of You I AM your legacy...., Because of You I AM committed to creating the Change I want to see... Because of You I AM the first African American to....)
